When I was searching for a doula, I wanted someone who would uphold the divine feminine principles that I desired to lead my first birth. I spoke to a few great women, but when I met Jules, I immediately felt an energetic connection. She has a wise elder quality to her that is as soft and peaceful as it is confident and commanding. All of these qualities served me in my home birth as we moved through the various stages together. She kept me nourished and focused in the beginning, held my hand and reminded me of my vision as the intensity increased, coached me through shifting my energy for the final push and supported me in latching once my daughter arrived. Her presence was a wonderful complement to my husband as they played equally important but different roles. I am so grateful for her being a part of my birth story and beyond, as she continues to be an amazing resource to me and many of the women in my community.

It’s not an exaggeration to say that Juliet was the main reason I had the successful home birth I was hoping for. Despite telling her she didn’t need to come yet when I was in labor, she intuitively knew when she needed to be there and insisted on coming and starting to work with me. Thank god she did, I really don’t know what I would have done otherwise. Her wise touch, calming words and depth of knowledge about the birthing process guided me through a long, exhausting labor and helped me bring my son into the world. I truly can’t say enough about how grounding she was for me and my husband. We had debated hiring a doula because we thought we could handle it on our own, and we absolutely could not have. Her mental and physical support and guidance were absolutely crucial, and she has the most wonderful, reassuring presence about her - whether you’re giving birth or not! She will be by our side if we decide to have more children, and I would whole heartedly recommend her to anyone else who is planning to birth at home and is searching for a wise, wonderful guide.
